sightseeing Limni |
|
There are many monuments (mainly from byzantine tames and later) which can be visited in Limni: the church of Zoodochos Pigi, the cavelike church of Agios Christodoulos, the hermitage of Agios Andreas, to mention but a few. In our opinion the Historical and Folklore Museum should come first on the list of things to visit in the town. It was established on the initiative of the habitants, who, in cooperation with the respective towns councils and officials from the Ministry of Culture, collected precious heirlooms and archives, which bear witness to the role that Limni played in the cultural and economic development of Evia but also of Greece in general. The documents of the town's historical archives are housed and preserved in the Museum of Limni. A visit to the Monasteries of Northen Evia: Moni Osiou David Famous on Evia and all over Greece. Turn off the road Aedipsos - Limni at the 22km near Rovies. Moni Galataki this is the oldest and most historically important monastery in Northern Evia about 12 km from Limni. History of Elymnio |
