Gerakiou

This is a village located on the slope of a mountain situated only 4 km away from Pefki in a thick forest of plane and pine trees. Streams cascade down in a waterfall at the entrance of the village which complete the scenery. The village was given its name due to numerous nests of falcons in the area. (the Greek word for falcon is "geraki") The people are mainly engaged in the exploitation of forest resources.
